Evidence exists to a settlement and church at this location dating back to the doomsday book, however that structure is not evident in the current church. The earliest part of the building dates to the 14'th century. With extensions in the 15'th and 19'th centuries.

The upright of the church cross - visible in this picture is believed to be saxon, possibly originally part of the mantel around a window.
