Castle Eaton - St Mary

This church St Mary at Castle Eaton presents an unusual profile with both a tower and a central 'coned' bell turret. A bell arch is characteristic of churches of the period but the coned shape is unusual and might not be taken as to be original.

Although on the site of a Saxon church the extant structure is 12'th and 13'th century with the later addition of a tower.
