Swindon photographer Nick Temple-Fry specialises in the informal photography of nature and people. This website shows a few images from his recent portfolio, and he hopes gives an illustration of his current work.

Resident of Swindon for over twenty five years Nick originally hails from the far plains of East Anglia. In his own words

"I am the 2'nd son of very regretful parents, and have been for a long time a minor British Poet haunting the further reaches of more obscure shortlists. For many years therefore bread and butter has been provided by senior roles in IT Management and Continuity Planning".

"I've always had an interest in the visual arts, it is a natural extension of my work with verbal imagery. "

Deterrence

I think I’ll tear the backs
off all those poetry books
they’re there just to deter,
“is a lecturer” or “Open University”
“written essays on Romantic Comedy”
“dumb at birth now blind and deaf”
“Gregory fellow” and a list of prizes
or that worst
“Born in 1985”.

Born in 1985,
when I’d already side lined
into managerial mode.
Miscast by the protestant obsession
and now misplaced.

I am a pensioned off prodigy
a wunderkind of zimmer prose
it’s a marvel that such immaturity
informs the work of one who’s old.

Already I can see my obituary
“wasn’t anybody special”
“no disabilities except for his temper”
“worked hard but never prospered”
“competent but never shone”
“his writing requires effort to get into”,
don’t bother,
“he didn't last for very long”.
